NASCO Group develops serviced apartments in Abuja

A Jos-based firm, NASCO Group Nigeria, says it is investing in the hotel and hospitality sector by constructing a 10-storeyed serviced apartment in the Federal Capital Territory.

The structure, located in the Central Business District, is about 80 per cent completed and is expected to be finished in 2017.

The group, in a statement by its Public Affairs Advisor, Haroun Audu, explained that the apartments would be managed by the world’s leading serviced apartment providers, Fraser Suites.

It stated that the facility featured 126 gold-standard residences that combine comfort, style and technology, with outstanding facilities and exclusive in-house services.

The statement added that the Fraser Suites would cater to expatriates, global business executives, diplomats and family members alike; noting that the development would create 600 new jobs and generate foreign exchange for the group’s shareholders.

It commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration for directing a construction firm, Julius Berger Plc, to rehabilitate the stretch of road leading to the project site.

Audu stated that when completed, the project would impact the hospitality sector in the country by adding more value, generating employment and contributing to foreign exchange earnings.

He said, “The location, size and scale of Fraser Suites, Abuja, will necessarily and automatically avail between 300 and 600 jobs to be drawn from the local Nigerian hospitality industry value chain.

“Some of these will include, but will not be limited to professional hotel management and catering staff; and goods and services providers from particularly the prolific output of Nigerian farmers, currently the focus of the Federal Government’s exertions to revive the contribution of agriculture to the nation’s GDP.”
